RAINBOW CAMP

Gilmour Knights prepare hot dogs and hamburgers for the children of Rainbow Camp, a weekday summer activity for inner-city children in the basement of St. Augustine Church.  Activities include setting up the grills (kept in garage storage and set up on a tree lawn), cooking the food, serving food and beverages, and preparing games for the children in school areas and in the park across from the church building.  The children eat in shifts as their activities are rotated throughout the day.   Time commitment is approximately 6 hours plus travel for 5 or more brother knights.  This is a Greater Cleveland Chapter activity that may involve upwards of 30 knights, so all are welcome to participate.

2018 EVENT

July 13th saw the 4th annual multi-council event at the St. Augustine school and cafeteria and the adjoining Lincoln Park. About 250 children had a fun-filled day of Tshirt-making, games and lunch, all prepared, served, and monitored by about 30 Greater Cleveland knights.  Gilmour Council #310 chipped in $200 and the services of 5 knights and one of their ladies.  The event began at 9AM and concluded at about 3PM.  Gilmour carpooled from the Sherwin-Gilmour Party Center.

36 service hours.  5 knights.
