July, 2022. Gilmour Council has donated a check for $1,000 to purchase air-conditioning units to augment the installation of ceiling fans shown below. The council continues its support with gifts of time and treasure, including 2019 participation in Zelie’s Home golf outings, sending 2 foursomes.
Zelie’s Home is a home of hospitality for homeless pregnant women. 5 homes in AZ and 1 in Cleveland are sponsored totally by volunteer donations with very strong Catholic roots. Volunteers are minimally paid, live with the mothers and serve 1-2 years of mission work.
In 2018, eight Gilmour #310 knights chipped in a couple hundred dollars and 141 hours, from 7/24-8/14, installing ceiling fans in the residence rooms at the home on the St. Monica Parish campus in Garfield Heights.
